When it comes to night time photography, then slow shutter speed is the main aspect. For more, here are things to be considered:

1. Timing. If you have take pictures outdoors in the evening, choose a time just after sunset, because at this moment, the sky still had a nice glow. Especially if you want to add texture, light in your photos. Consider also the time when the full moon.
